The cell/tissue culture lab is designed to process highly sensitive cell culture products and expansions from freshly collected cells and tissues. Common isolations and expansions that are performed in this area include, but are not limited to, Bone marrow stem cells, synoviocytes, and chondrocytes. High volume CO2 incubators, centrifuges, laminar flow hood and microscopes comprise the equipment utilized for culture protocols and applications. In addition to the culture techniques performed in the cell lab, biomechanical testing for compressive and shear material properties as well as tissue explants or cell-seeded scaffolds is also done in this area using specialized cell loading equipment.
