You are looking at the treadmill and treatment room at the Gail Holmes Equine Orthopaedic Research Center. Here the research horses are given a controlled amount of daily exercise on the treadmill, usually in a walk-trot-canter-walk pattern for two minutes each. Treatments can also be given to the horses in the stocks shown in the movie. The two large doors are the induction and recovery stalls for the horses as they go into and come out of surgery.
